Ron Edwards received his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Edwards has over 16 years of experience and began his engineering career in Boston, Massachusetts.
While in Boston and since arriving in Las Vegas, Mr. Edwards has served as the lead project manager and mechanical engineer of record for a wide range of projects. He specializes in technical and complex designs including large multi-use facilities, large office center complexes, performing arts centers, historic renovations and museums. His experience in facility conceptual design master planning and complex building system infrastructure planning is extensive and extends over a broad range of project types. Serving as a cross-discipline project manager has provided him a broad based knowledge of building services, system integration and the associated impact to building architecture and life safety.
The experience Mr. Edwards has regarding renovation work including historical properties has trained him to work within a limited architectural zone when required and understand the overall architectural goals. This extensive coordination by all disciplines requires the lead by the mechanical engineer. A partial summary of these projects includes: The First Church of Christ Publishing House Building, Administration Tower and Church Proper (Boston, MA), One Beacon Street Office Building (Boston, MA) and Good Samaritan Medical Center (Brockton, MA).
Mr. Edwards has been the mechanical engineer for complex performing arts centers and museums including the Las Vegas Performing Arts Center, Boston IMAX Theater, Harriet Tubman Museum and Boston Children’s Museum.
A partial list of hospitality projects includes Palazzo, Venetian Phase 1A and Meeting Room Complex, Boston Marriot Convention Center Hotel, Three Rivers Indian Casino, Barona Tribe Indian Casino Master Planning, Ak-Chin Indian Casino as well as numerous remodels along the Las Vegas Strip.
Mr. Edwards has been LEED certified for over six years and has worked with the USGBC to complete many certified projects. He has compiled Energy Audits for LEED certifications, Energy Star compliance, Green Globes and proposed energy conservation measures to save the owner/operator life cycle costs. He has been involved with many “green systems” including solar hot water heating, solar photovoltaic and geo-thermal systems.
Additional projects have included schools, churches, office buildings, parking garages, manufacturing, government and central plant facilities.
