Derek Sands
Mr. Derek Sands received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney. With over 15 years of electrical engineering experience - including 12 years spent working in Asia - Mr. Sands has a wide range of technical and practical experience within the gaming, hospitality, infrastructure and transportation sectors. Through his four years in Macau - following 7 years in Hong Kong and 12 months in Malaysia -Mr. Sands has thrived in the fast track design and build atmosphere prevalent in this part of the world.
Mr. Sands joined JBA Consulting Engineers in 2007, expanding our Asian operations through the establishment of our Macau office. The multi-disciplinary team that he is bringing together as the "Asian face" of JBA is strongly founded on the tenets of technical excellence, close inter-department coordination and quality of design.
Mr. Sands utilizes his specialization in high and low voltage electrical and information-technology systems, broad experience in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and fire-services systems, together with his inter-personal skills, to develop our key customer relationships in the Asian region.
